🤿 Deep Dive: Up to €150,000 for Social Innovation in Vienna

You're working on a project that solves a societal problem? Whether it's health, education, climate protection, diversity or integration: through the Lebensqualität Wien programme, the Vienna Business Agency funds new products and business models that drive positive social change.

The programme is open to all sectors and is especially interesting for founders and SMEs working at the intersection of business and social impact.

What's on Offer?

• Maximum funding amount: €150,000 per project
• Funding rate: up to 50% of eligible project costs
• Minimum project size: €20,000
• Women's bonus: if the project is led by a qualified woman, there's an additional €5,000
• Founding bonus: if a company is founded in the course of the project, another €5,000 is added
• Advance payment of up to 50% of the funding amount possible

What Is Being Funded?

Personnel costs, consulting and development costs, tangible and intangible investment costs, costs for prototype construction as well as construction measures. Ongoing operating costs are not funded.

Important: The project may only start after the funding application has been fully submitted. The maximum project duration is 2 years.

Who Can Apply?

Small and medium-sized enterprises as well as founders with a place of business in Vienna. Joint applications are possible, e.g. together with universities, universities of applied sciences, associations or institutions from the education and social sectors.

Who Can Apply and By When?

The next submission deadlines are:

• 30 April 2026
• 31 August 2026
• 31 December 2026

You can submit on a rolling basis. All applications fully submitted by the deadline are jointly evaluated by an independent jury. Results are usually available after about 3 months.

Why Is This Relevant?

Social innovation is becoming more and more important, and this grant is one of the few that explicitly supports projects at the intersection of business and society. The combination of a high funding amount, the option of advance payment and the additional bonuses makes the programme particularly attractive for founders.
